Adventures with Starlo Von Sourdough
An original series from San Francisco Toys
ADVENTURES WITH STARLO VON SOURDOUGH
MORE TREASURE. LESSER KNOWN GODS. WORLDS TO SAVE.
A handcrafted stop-motion fantasy comedy designed to be watched, rewatched, explored and played.
THERE ARE WORLDS HIDING BENEATH SAN FRANCISCO
Starlo has spent much of his life on the outside looking in.
Then a mysterious golf ball leads him somewhere impossible.
Hidden in the city are moonlit forests, ruined temples, forgotten gods, magical creatures and ancient treasures powerful enough to alter reality.
And somehow, Starlo has become part of it.
Each adventure brings new friends, strange gods and impossible choices— drawing Starlo deeper into an ancient conflict whose heroes and villains aren’t as simple as they first appear.
The more powerful Starlo becomes, the harder it is to know whether he’s saving his world—or becoming a danger to it.
The line between hero and villain may depend on who is telling the story.
EVERY EPISODE IS A TREASURE HUNT
Look closely.
Every handcrafted set can hide clues, jokes and pieces of mythology. Objects that seem meaningless may not stay meaningless. Characters don’t necessarily tell the truth. And sometimes the thing hiding in the background matters more than what’s happening in front of it.
Episodes are designed to reward repeat viewing like a visual treasure hunt.
Fans don’t just watch Starlo. They investigate, learn and play.
MEET SOME OF THE LOCALS
HUCKLEBERRY HASHBROWNS
Native San Francisco parrot. Charming narrator. Inexplicable Southern accent. Terrible impressions.

RULES ROBOT
Know the rules. All of them.
RULES ROBOT
FOUL-MOUTH CHICKEN-DUCK
A strange little creature Starlo rescued long ago.
Looks like a duck. Has human hands for feet. Doesn’t speak English—except, apparently, for a few bad words.
FOUL-MOUTH CHICKEN-DUCK
ROBOT GOALIE
Part goalie. Part playmate. Part bully.
Lives in Starlo’s house and has one purpose: nothing gets past him.
ROBOT GOALIE
CITY BAT
A territorial creature of the jungle world.
Part bat. Part something else entirely. It does not appreciate visitors.
DITR’S RULES OF GOLF
When Bunker Shark falls gravely ill, Starlo has six hours to find the Elixir of Life.
His search leads through enchanted greens, impossible worlds, real golf rules and the questionable guidance of DITR—a disgraced god who cheats even when he’s trying to help.
Along the way, golf becomes something unexpected: a magical language for integrity, confidence and consequence.
Featuring appearances by Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, two-time Masters Champion Bubba Watson and PING Golf CEO John Solheim.
SAN FRANCISCO IS THE GATEWAY.
Starlo’s adventures may cross impossible worlds, but they begin at home.
Victorian houses. Beaches. Parks. Art. Fog. Forgotten corners.
San Francisco isn’t simply the backdrop to Starlo’s story.
It’s a character—and something he may eventually have to save.
Look carefully enough and ordinary places become entrances to worlds where ancient myths are still very much alive.
INSIDE OF STARLO’S HOME
HANDMADE WORLDS YOU CAN FEEL.
Starlo is built physically.
Sets. Creatures. Paintings. Props. Golf balls. Treasures. Portals.
Real materials. Real textures. Real light.
Some environments take months—or even years—to create. The trumpet tree gardens, for example, took years to grow.
Imperfections remain.
They’re part of the world.
Because in Starlo, something made by hand can contain something a perfectly rendered world can’t: evidence that somebody was actually there.
ANCIENT ELEPHANT BURIAL GREENS.
THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING
The deeper Starlo travels, the larger the mythology becomes.
New worlds.
New creatures.
New treasures.
New gods.
And some very old problems.
MORE TREASURE. LESSER KNOWN GODS. WORLDS TO SAVE.
